China Electric Equipment has done these things for the operation of the Tingshan Frequency Conversion Station of the Hangzhou Flexible Low Frequency Transmission Demonstration Project


Recently, the world's first high-voltage and high-capacity low-frequency frequency conversion station, the 220kV Tingshan frequency conversion station, was successfully put into operation. This frequency conversion station has achieved controllable frequency conversion of AC 220V voltage level electricity for the first time in the world, marking a crucial step towards the overall operation of the world's highest voltage level and largest transmission capacity flexible low-frequency transmission project, the 220kV Zhongbu Tingshan flexible low-frequency transmission demonstration project.

The 220 kV Zhongbu Tingshan Flexible Low Frequency Transmission Demonstration Project involves the construction of low frequency stations on both sides of the 13.2 kilometer long 220 kV Tingshan Zhongbu Station transmission line, connecting the two major load centers in Fuyang and southern Xiaoshan. The Tingshan frequency switching station has mastered the core technology of flexible low-frequency transmission, pioneered the first set of 14 achievements in a series of high-voltage and large-capacity flexible switching frequency stations, low-frequency transformers, low-frequency circuit breakers, and low-frequency control and protection systems, and seized the core equipment and key technological heights in the global field of flexible low-frequency transmission.

China Electric Equipment has undertaken the research and development and supply tasks of key equipment such as low-frequency 220kV transformers, power frequency 220kV transformers, low-frequency 72.5kV, and 252kV GIS for the project.

Successful development of low-frequency transformer in one go.

China XD Group has undertaken the research and development of six 20 Hz power transformers (DF-110000/220) at two frequency conversion stations, Tingshan and Zhongbu. The working frequency of the transformer is 20 Hz. The design personnel of the R&D department derived the design method of the low-frequency transformer based on the basic principle, and conducted a detailed study on a series of key issues such as the impact of low-frequency on no-load performance, stray and eddy current losses, natural frequencies of the body and oil tank, flexible positioning of the body, the impact of low-frequency on iron core grounding, and the impact of low-frequency on insulation, Detailed analysis was conducted using principles and simulation methods, and corresponding solutions were proposed in sequence. This product has the characteristics of low loss, low partial discharge, low temperature rise, low noise, strong overload capacity, and compact structure. Through the national level scientific and technological achievements appraisal organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation, the comprehensive performance indicators have reached the international leading level.
