On August 11, 2022, the "Second Offshore Wind Power Innovation and Development Conference" hosted by Polaris Power Network and Polaris Wind Power Network was held in Nanjing. At the meeting, Zhao Guoliang, Deputy Director of the Power Electronics Research Institute of State Grid Smart Grid Research Institute, gave a detailed explanation on the "flexible low-frequency AC transmission technology for offshore wind power". This transmission technology uses fully controlled devices and has flexible regulation capabilities. When applied to offshore wind power, it can effectively reduce frequency, increase cable carrying capacity, comprehensively improve the effective transmission capacity of submarine cables, improve transmission reliability, and reduce operation and maintenance costs.
